Gary Acedo, out of South Florida, has been working in his territory to find contracts/core item lists that he can convert to Zebra. His approach is a “Win-Win” for the Dealer and Consumer alike. (Of course you add a “WIN” to Gary’s commissions after he converts the business to Zebra!!)
His approach is simple….Gary asks his Dealer contacts if he can review existing core item lists/contracts for items that he feels he can increase their margins. He then engages the help of Angela DiCarlo in our Bid Dept to help him cross reference the contracts and see where we can help. (PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED – this is the actual file that Gary recently received from his customer on a major end user contract.) Angela cross referenced the items for Gary and gave him the MARGIN RESULTS. Out of 28 items on this contract we greatly enhanced 20 items!! What a win for the Dealer’s margins and the consumer, as a lower price resulted!! This is a great example of how we should be Consultative selling in this tough environment. Gary showed them 20 out of 28 items where we could enhance margins and help their business. Sampling followed to make sure the consumers were happy with the new items and we converted nearly all products.
Outstanding Consultative selling Gary – I don’t think your Dealer will forget this margin enhancement anytime soon!

Tim,

I just wanted to pass along some comments on my recent visit to the Atlanta market working with Scott Taliaferro:

1. From the moment I arrived until the time I left, I always felt like we were accomplishing what Scott had set out to achieve. His itinerary was well planned and very productive.
2. I know I have mentioned it before to you but Scott is another true professional in regards to what he brings (and what he gets) to his customers. It was so obvious the respect that he was shown and you and I both know that this is usually achieved by hard work.
3. Another point that very obvious to both Scott and me was the tremendous opportunities that exist in the Atlanta market for the EWS wall system. Tim, I was blown away with the work going on in Atlanta that is calling for movable walls.
4. We also had a chance to discuss the needs to make him more productive in wall sales and we both agreed that training would be a plus. But, I will also point out that Scott recognized that selling movable walls is not rocket science. I also know he realizes that there is a lot of money that can he can make from our movable walls.

Tim, again I have to commend you for another “star” performer and I am really looking forward to supporting Scott as he takes off in Atlanta with Environmental Wall Systems.

Dear Tim and Rick,

Gary Acedo walked into our office last Spring with a Design and Pricing for a Homeland Security Mobile System. We had never met a Datum Rep before so his visit took us by surprise but we were happy to get the opportunity. Since that first visit, our volume with Datum has increased from 17K over 150K. Although the numbers speak for themselves, I wanted to take this opportunity to share one Dealers impression of his Factory Rep.

Gary expressed an interest to dig into our product and process so we took him into the field where he learned Open Shelf Color Coded Filing first hand. Armed with this knowledge, Gary started bringing quality leads to our sales force. These leads led to sales and more importantly, relationships with End Users.

An example of Gary’s efforts occurred last Friday when we went on the road to Florida’s West Coast.
• We cold called one A&D Firm, spent and 1 hour with the Principal and scheduled a L&L .
• A large Steel Case Furniture Dealer committed to running their filing and storage business through us.
• A second A&D Firm spent an hour with us talking about Filing and Storage.
• We called on one of my Customers and the CEO spent an hour with us talking about her satisfaction with Datum Products. She also needed a desk and Gary now has an opportunity to sell one of his furniture lines.

During the 1 hour drive across the Alley we brainstormed new business development ideas and learned more about each others product lines.

Gary Acedo is the best manufacturer’s representative I’ve encountered in my 21 years in the filing and storage business. His singular accomplishments as a factory representative reflect great credit on both Datum and the MVK Group.

Dear Tim,

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Bryan Flowers, Todd Ware and Gary Acedo from the MVK Group while they were promoting our full height movable wall systems. I would like to share with you my observations during the five days:
1. My very first impression of all three individuals was the outstanding level of professionalism that they exhibited towards their customers, their peers and me personally.
2. The next attribute that surfaced during our conversations was the quality of hire that MVK brings to their workforce. The backgrounds of all three individuals seemed to be laden with success.
3. Knowing that Todd and Bryan have been under your employment longer than Gary, the customer relationship that I witnessed in their two territories was at the highest level and I can only surmise that it is a direct result of their expertise and hard work that they bring to their clients.
4. Lastly, seeing our product is new to their sales goals, the willingness to learn and outperform our competitors was apparent with all three reps.

Tim, I am sure you are aware of all of the above but I felt I had to put it down on paper to remind my people that these are the type of individuals that are representing our walls and why we are looking for a very successful year in 2009 from The MVK Group.

As always, you two do a tremendous job for us. Zebra is one of the most
innovative preferred vendors in our group. That explains the 32%
overall increase with us this year.

I do want to give kudos to the MVK Group as well. They represent Zebra
with vigor, and I have to say that our Carolinas rep, Todd Ware, is one
of the best reps in the industry. I've been in it for 17 years and can
say that he's always been one of our favorites.

Bryan Flowers
Mr. Kuhlman:

I just wanted to simply drop you a note about our sales representative, Bryan Flowers.
I have been in the office furniture business for 15 years and I can say with absolutely
no hesitation that Bryan Flowers is the best sales representative that we have ever
had walk through our doors (please don't tell the Steelcase, Allsteel, or Hon reps!).

Bryan's willingness to find solutions when problems arise is why I will continue to find
ways of giving him and ultimately MVK group as much business as I possibly can.
An example of his whatever-it-takes approach follows: Last night at 9:15 Bryan called
me on my cell phone to ask me a question about drawing that HE volunteered to rework
for me on his own time last night to have it resolved for me today. THAT'S EXCELLENT
SERVICE DEFINED!
